Country Cousins

This is breaking my heart because going through all these pictures because it was so much fun in the beginning and now I'm starting to feel sad, like I'm reliving the good-byes. I miss you guys so much. This was the last day we spent in Richmond, some of the cousins came over to party with us one last time.

I told you, he's a lovey baby! Even Jasmine was smitten. **note on living room. I can guarantee that this living room has not looked like this since that day. We really bring a whirlwind everywhere we go.

I hate to play favorites, and really I'm not, I just... he just... I mean, he does the army crawl! It's priceless!
I cut my hair when I went to my moms. It looks a lot better, but it's a lot shorter. I miss it. I miss my hair. My life hasn't been the same since I cut it. boohoohoo. I'm getting emotional; I must be really tired. Better get in my jammies and snuggle in for the night. And why shouldn't I? It's already 5:47!

  I had my first hand-held video game when I was in grade school. It had two buttons, L and R, that were used to dodge cars and debris in the road. I was insanely jealous when my brother was given a watch that he could play Pac-Man on. I love video games. I love them too much.   This may come as a shock to some people, but I’m extremely maternal. The impulse to nurture shows up in the weirdest ways. I sweet-talk my sourdough. I pray over my plants and tell them they are beautiful. I have been doting on my little garden every chance I get. It’s brings me an unreasonable amount of happiness to go out in the cool of the day and watch the sprinkler sway, dousing each little plant with refreshment.  With that in mind, you can see how it would pain me to pluck these beautiful buds off as they are beginning their formation. These are my strawberry plants. They need to spend their energy building a strong root system, rather than blooming and growing strawberries, at least not this year. It’s for their own good, but it still hurts me a little when they are trying so hard. Don’t worry, little darlings...   I distinctly recall studying robins in the second or third grade, and learning that they come out in the spring. I never paid much attention when I was younger, but now I see them everywhere as spring approaches. This photo doesn’t do justice in representing the countless robins in this one yard. I was dumbstruck when I saw them, but I snapped a photo so I could remember. There were so many!  I’m in love with the seasons. Every one has a place in my heart that I wouldn’t trade for anything. We lived in one of the most beautiful areas in California for three years. I felt so fancy when I found out we were moving there; I’m just a Kansas girl, you know. The temperature was in the 60s and 70s year round. We were 5 miles from the beach and 15 minutes from sprawling acres of beautifully kept vineyards.
