In my day, I don't spend a lot of time reading. I read my Bible in the beginning, I read my blog after I write it, I read the Drudge Report, and occasionally I read other people's blogs after I publish mine. Outside of my Bible study, there isn't a lot of intellectual stimulation in my day. This is frustrating for me because my thoughts consist of about 85% kid stuff, 10% stuff I see of TV and about 5% original thought promoted by intellect. I understand that my life is pretty ensconced in my circumstances being that I am a stay-at-home mom. However, I have a responsibility to trigger intellect in my children's thoughts. If I am not triggering my own, I find myself laughing at SpongeBob antics.
The other day Dale asked me if I ever read Voddie Baucham's blog, which I haven't for a very long time. Today I got on his website and uncovered a goldmine. There is so much here that I will keep myself busy for a very, very long time reading his thoughts and reading from the links he's posted on his blog. That is what I wanted to share with you.

Voddie Baucham in a nutshell is a pastor that *gets* God's purpose for family in the body of Christ and everything in his ministry stems from that one thing. guard dog

  This dog is a fierce opponent of mine. For over a year I have avoided the last leg of my two-mile walk because of his ferocious bark. I have a fear of dogs from childhood that is pretty irrational, but I am able to reason myself out of running scared, sometimes. Instead of walking to the end of his block, I would just retrace the distance over an area that was dog-free. It felt silly, but it kept me safe. Then one day there were two walkers ahead of me that managed to get to the end of the block with no sign of attack. I could hear the dog barking, but he didn’t approach, so I assumed there was an electric fence. Oh the joy I felt at this discovery! I began to shed my fear and walk freely to the end of the trail.  I was so happy about my newfound freedom that I decided to write about it. So one day, I stopped on the sidewalk in front of the dog’s house to take a photo of him. Before I knew it he was charging at me, barking viciously. He got closer and closer and I walked quickly down

Hi, have you met Dale? Than you know why this picture shocks me everytime I look at, it's like I'm seeing it for the first time. So I'm praying that I'll have at LEAST one writing project done by next spring. With the new home schooling goals, I don't know how practical that is, but without a forty hour commitment to working every week, starting in October, I'll have a little free tiME! WE GOT THE JOB!!! Dale interviewed today. We should have a reporting date in October. Thank you all, with all sincerity, for your prayers for us and the timing on this crazy thing. It has been worth the wait- for this. If we had not been forced to wait the past months, Dale would have gone into the interview totally unprepared, overweight and out of shape. But God...
